ABOUT Matt
Matthew Gormly originates from Sydney, Australia and began in film & tv in 1988 as a fresh-faced 17yo. Starting out in 35mm commercials, corporate video, and current affairs, it was the perfect training ground for the “multi-skilling” generation.
25+ years later, Matt’s worked from bases in Sweden, Hong Kong, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Australia. He’s served the gamut of roles in film & tv - from today’s DP, director & producer, to past days as a Walt Disney executive, 35mm 1st AC, satellite broadcast operations, sound recordist, and best boy.
Travel, people, and far-flung locations are a huge part of what Matt does, and what he loves most. Enjoying the local culture, taking inspiration wherever possible, and forging friendships on the road.
